So yeah.
I thought I'd share a bit of what John Paul Jackson shared with us yesterday, so here it is, "10 things I wish I'd have known in my 20's" in point form...
1.There will be highs and lows in life, don't exaggerate either one.
-When we exaggerate the grandness of the moment, it gives us unrealisitic expectations for the future.
2. My irritations with others reveal weaknesses in me that will keep me from my destiny.
-The surface of issues is inconsequential, it's the root that has eternal consequences.
3. Methodology is not nearly as important as getting it done.
4. Very few things are as important as I want to make them, very few things are as inconsequential as I think.
5. Never worry over something no one will remember in a year from now.
6. Say I'm sorry 3 times more than you think you should.
-The length of time it takes you to apologize is exponential to how long it takes that person to forgive you.
7. Chaos is the best thing that can happen to you.
-Nothing goes according to plan, it becomes chaos which is constructive. I.e. only 5% of 2 year business plans actually happen the way it's written. But Failure to plan leads to anarchy which is destructive.
8. No plan is perfect, but 80% of the things I don't plan for, end up detrimental to my ends.
-If you don't plan the Holy Spirit doesn't have anything to work with, he can't change your plans. I.e. If you are cooking something and you get out all the spices to make indian food, the Holy Spirit might direct you to make Mexican food, but if you hadn't planned, you'd have never gotten the spices out.
9. The depth of my pain reveals the strength of my coming annointing.
10. Accumalation Effect
-If you have a history of private defeats, it'll add to the weight of your decision making. At decision time, it's easier to make a poor choice because you have a history of it. It works the other way as well.
-Great choices today mean better choices in the future.
So there you have it, that's basically what John Paul talked about yesterday, it was really good, so I thought I'd give you taste of what we've been learning. And now, here a few more pictures...
