New York...

Today was a pretty cool day, Jeremy and I took the train from Milford all the way in to Grand Central Station New York, it was about 1 hr and 45 min ride, so it did take awhile. We caught the 9:40 am train in, but we were so tired, because the night before we were supposed to pick someone up from the aiport (JFK) which is almost an hour and ahalf away, but the person never showed, he was supposed to be there at 12:10 am, so at 1:30 am, we fought our way out of the severe traffic, (Who'd have thought at 1 am we'd wait 45 min, just to get to the terminal to pick him up?!) and didn't get home till 3. Then I had a terrible night coughing and barely slept at all. I got up at 6 and went for a walk and got some coffee and walked some more. So you can imagine I'm pretty beat now after just getting home!

Anyways, Grand Central Station was pretty cool, it was very big, I didn't quite expect it to be that big. After we went to Times Square, I don't think I've ever seen 6 story TV screens before, it was pretty crazy. We walked for a while, stopped at a few store, Toys R Us even has an indoor ferris wheel, pretty much every store there was over the top, but it was cool to check them out.

In Central Park
Then we walked to Central park where we didn't spend too much time, just had a little walk, checked out the squirrels and headed onto trump towers where I had a lively chat with good 'ole Don about my portfolio, he was pretty impressed, too impressed in fact, I ended up having to fire him. It got kind of messy, but it just wasn't working out. You're Fired!

Sell Sell Sell!!!We then moseyed on over to Wall St. where I advised some traders to check out Alhambra Resources on the TSX, we talked a bit about the 4X market and the conversation just went downhill from there. I'll not say it got physical, but I am a bit sore. Some fool also let a wild bull out, I had to take charge and tame the beast, turns out, all he wanted was a oversized soft pretzel.

We spent a good deal of time on the subway, being packed into them with a bunch of sweaty people isn't quite as glamourous as I once thought...

We ended our day out by checking out the city hall buildings and the courthouses, oh and I did catch a glimmer of the Empire State Building between some others...

In conclusion, I discovered New York is a pretty big place, in the hours we were there, I think we pretty much saw everything there is to see, but I'm sure if I had another week, I could find something else to go see.

Tomorrow I'm leaving early on a bus for New Hampshire to begin the internship program, it'll be another good day of traveling so I'd appreciate your prayers for my health, as I've had a wicked cough today, it's really bad, and very difficult to sleep at nights with it. So I'd really like to get a good nights sleep because I haven't had once in a while.

Thanks for your prayers...

Rumble in the bronx

Well I had my first full day here in Connecticut, I got up bright and early at 8:30 which was more like 5:30 for me, Jeremy, Rachel and I met his pastor Steve and his wife and drove to a church called the Sanctuary. It's a small street church in the bronx, it reminded me alot of the First Nations street church I went to in Vancouver.
Steve Kelly gave a message and after we went around prayed for people, and we even got prayed for at the end of it, it was a really good time there.
After that, Jeremy, Rachel and I went a few stores down to a pizza place where I had pretty much the best pizza I've ever had in my life, those americans can sure make some pizza...
After lunch we went with a group of people to go pray for a lady who had MS and was in a wheelchair, although she didn't get up and do a riverdance, she did get a little movement in one of her legs briefly, so we're praying for a continual healing for her.
This evening I pretty much just relaxed, Jeremy, Rachel and I played some Yahtzee, later me and Jeremy watched a movie and played some more Yahtzee, I managed to score an astonishing 429, yes that's right, believe it.
Most of the people down here have these crazy accents, it almost sounds like they are all just faking it for a good laugh, well at least I find it pretty funny. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but I promise I won't come back sounding "loik a nu your-ker"

Here I am. In New York.

Well, I made it to New York in one piece, although I have to admit, it was mighty disapointing. I didn't get to see the Statue of Liberty when I flew in. I guess I thought it'd be like the movies where they always fly by it so close, but no, it's not true, don't believe it. I didn't even see it in the distance or anything. Other than that my flight was pretty uneventful, except I was there really early. The border people said I should be there like 2 hours before the reccomended 2 hours early, so I heeded their advice and I ended up being there waaaay to early, it only took an extra half hour to do the customs stuff I needed to do, and then I just sat in the airport for like 3 1/2 hours, but better safe than sorry...
Jeremey and his fiance Rachel picked my up from JFK Airport, then we had a leisurely drive to Conneticut and we stopped for dinner, so it was a good evening, it sounds like Jeremey's got some stuff planned for us to do for the next few days before I bus up to the school, so I'm really looking forward to my little vacation before school starts.
